Measure the length of your foot? All you need is a sheet of paper and two minutes
How many times have you ordered shoes online and the size was not the right one? It happens because foot length is often measured by eye. In a few minutes, with the right tools, you can avoid mistakes and returns. YDA explains how to do it, without complications.

What you need
A blank sheet of paper, a thin pencil, a ruler or a tape measure, and a pair of socks similar to those you will wear with the shoes.

Step 1: Position your foot
Place the paper on the floor against a smooth wall. Put your foot with your heel firmly against the wall. Stand up straight, with your weight distributed on both legs.
Step 2: Trace the outline
Hold the pencil vertically and draw the profile of your foot. Go close to the toes without leaving gaps. Repeat with the other foot – they are almost always slightly different.
Step 3: Measure the length
With the ruler, measure the distance from the furthest back point of the heel to the tip of the longest toe (sometimes it is the second toe). Example: 26.4 cm. Do not round down.
Step 4: Add comfort space
When you walk, your foot needs an extra 0.5–1 cm in front of the toes. Add this tolerance to the measured length. Now compare the total with the store’s size chart (you will find it under each Optima Mollier product).
Two useful tips
- Measure in the evening: after a day on your feet, the foot is slightly longer and swollen.
- Wear the right socks: put on the socks you plan to wear with the shoes before tracing the outline.
With these simple instructions, every purchase will be a sure hit. No more returns, no more doubts.
